Summer Internship for College Students

We are seeking college students to hire as Servant Leaders (teachers) for the Freedom School in Summer.

College-age students and recent college graduates play a key role in the Freedom School Program. They are responsible for the front-line care and nurturing of the children. Using the Integrated Reading Curriculum, they serve as facilitators in the classroom, leader of community outreach activities, serve as a leader of afternoon activities and other special events as well as chaperone field trips.

Servant Leaders work with the children to prepare songs, dances, and poems to present to their parents and the community as a part of the Closing Ceremony Program. The Closing Ceremony is used as an opportunity to share what the children have learned all summer and to showcase the overall program. Current donors and potential donors are especially invited to this event.
